බදුල්ල, හල්දුම්මුල්ල, මීරිය බැද්ද වතුයායේ පෙරේදා (29 ) සිදුවූ බිහිසුණු ෙ€දවාචකයේ ශෝකය වාවා ගැනීමට නොහැකිව හඬා වැටෙන ගම්වැසියන් සහ ඔවුන්ගේ සුව දුක්‌ සොයා බැලීමට ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතා (30) එම ප්‍රදේශයට පැමිණි අවස්‌ථාව ඡායාරූප වල දැක්‌වේ. According to the Badulla Government Agent, the number of persons missing owing to the Koslanda landslide that occurred on Wednesday morning has risen to nearly 300, while the number of bodies discovered has risen to 8. The Badulla GA added that 150 houses have been buried following the landslide. The DMC stated that three bodies were discovered in the rubble while three individuals were rescued and are currently receiving treatment at the Bandarawela Hospital. නමුත් ඊට පසුව අපට දැනගන්න ලැබුනේ සේමිණිගේ චෝදනාව ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කරමින් එය අපහාසයක් යයි පවසා දමිතා අබේරත්නත් මිලියන 1000 ක් ඉල්ලා නඩු දමන පුවතකි.

නමුත් අද දිනයේ අපට වාර්තා වන්නේ සෙමිණි ඉද්දමල්ගොඩ හා දමිතා අබේරත්න  ඔවුනොවුන්ට එරෙහිව පවරාගත් වන්දි නඩු කොළඹ දිසාවිනිසුරු අයිවන් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා ඉදිරියේ බේරුම් කර ගත් පුවතයි.

Film and tele drama actress Damitha Abeyratne has demanded Rs. 100 million as damages from popular actress Semini Iddamalgoda for allegedly defaming her.

 

Ms Abeyratne made this claim through her lawyer when the case filed by Ms. Iddamalgoda claiming Rs. 500 million as damages from Ms Abeyratne for allegedly defaming her, was taken up at the Colombo District Court today.

“Yaal Devi” on track ; resumes it's services

The Yal Devi train resumes services to Jaffna after a lapse of 24 years.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa did ceremonially inaugurate the service 13th October 2014.
President opened the Northern Railway Line up to Jaffna and the President will join the inaugural drive as a special passenger.

Yal Devi (sinhala: යාල් දේවී; Tamil: யாழ் தேவி) is a major intercity express train in Sri Lanka.^[2] Operated by Sri Lanka Railways, the Yal Devi connects Colombo, the nation's commercial hub, with the northern cities of Jaffna and Kankesanturai. Since 1990, the service has had to terminate at intermediate stations, due to the Sri Lankan civil war. Currently the Northern Line is being rebuilt to allow the Yal Devi to return to Jaffna and Kankesanturai.^[3]
